IIM Indore GD/PI experience 2010

https://www.pagalguy.com/discussions/2010-2012-iim-indore-gd-pi-experiences-25052412 Faculty :- (1)Indian Institute of Management Indore - faculty detail (2)Indian Institute of Management Indore - faculty detail Essay:-very Good,PI:-Ok type from my side(stress Interview) As soon as I entered the room, they started commenting me sarcastically that "Hero take your seat.(sarcastic smile).Your handwritting is very bad,Never seen this kind of worst handwrtting in my life...Blah blah blah". Then asked me about my CAT percentile and why not other IIMs. Suddenly asked, why there is a brach in engineering called "Electronics and Instrumentation",Why not separate branches. Again why there is a branch called "Mechatronix".Why there is a branch called "electroniccs and communiccation".why not separate. Then told me to debate on my Essay. Define BPL?(International and Indian definition),what is the flaw in it?what percentage of Indian population is under BPL category?? I told"sir,27.5%" Immediately Prof Ghosh asked,"how can you tell so confidently"?? I told,"sir, wikipedia source" Now Prof Kapoor,"Beta ab bolo wikipedia se kya kya interview ke liye padhke aaye ho"(with a smile)?? I smiled and told,"sir,I know these basic economic terms from Daily newspaper." Prof Kapoor,"nahin nahin,Sach main frankly bolo kya kya padhake aayeho". Again scold me about my handwritting. Then told me prepare for next year. You are capable of going to IIMA. I was giving straight answers to each and every question or suggestion coming out of their mouth. Then screwd me on my Hobbies. Both got impressed by my quality work experience and responsibilities. Finally told,"Why were not you able to convert any call last year. This year you are in trouble.you can go now." I made a sad face, but was confident that i defended in each and every word. Verdict:-50-50 chances of converting it.

Memories to Rejoice

I believe sometimes when you find yourself in the midst of infinite loops in your daily chores and your mind is blank on how to acquire that juggernaut speed to get into the mode of progression, its better to dedicate few precious moments to have a visit down your memory lane to connect the dots backwards and gain deep insight to reiterate on your life's vision and mission statements. I am keeping store of these photos to refer back in future and have a hearty laugh with my grand children..:)

Run for your heart(VMH run)

"When the days are short
and the Nights are long,
You gave me power to carry on"...the first night run for 10kms in my life.I checked the confirmation mail umpteen times sent to me from Runnersforlife club regarding the timings and details about VMH Run.My Conscious brain captured it was written 9pm,though my Unconscious brain contravened stating the typo mistake made by the sender,so it must be 9am.Later came to know that they were correct regarding the timings mentioned in that mail.I was destined to be a somnambulist for few hours.

Same kind of josh, triumphant attitude and energised will pushed me forward. But "sweating at night"(Because of physical activities like running..Don't explore other options) is not my hobby. So I felt a bit dizzy under the broad yellow lights. But you know, when you show interest towards your passion and passion turned to hobby, even God will fear to deceive you.Night life was so calm and peaceful,I wished as if those two hands were my wings and i could cover the whole world in a blink.I felt the conglomeration of uniqueness of spiderman,Shaktiman and superman empowering my soul.

This 10kms run was organised by Vydehi hospital and mallya hospital on the eve of World Heart Day.Venue was at the campus of vydehi medical college and hospital. So,whole medical college students made the prerace "halla machao"(make some noise) session crazy enough to vibrate others hearts.I took 1 hour to cross the finish line. The money collected in this event was donated to few NGOs who are working for social upliftment of the underprivileged.

The most embarrassing moment was meeting Ramya (the cynosure in 2nd pic)and asking her the way to toilet...:)..what to do!!! I was in hurry and found only that living being nearby at that moment. She just smiled and went on.I came to know about this young lady when she lighted up the candles before start of the race. She requested the medical college doctors to check her heart once and restore the original one as she lost her heart many times in kannada movies and that way it got abased.

In the end two Germans stole the show and absconded with my heart...:(..

Yeah,India has got talent

According to Alchemist"Maktub,it is written".From mystical point of view, it points to the fact that whatever You want from the corner of your heart,You will get it.The whole universe conspires on you and let you get it in the end.The Recent Result of India has got talent unveils the truth value of that wise saying. The scale of flexibility, the principles of discipline, the flawless expressions and most crucial the artistic austerity was reflected in the actions of every individual performers of "THE PRINCE DANCE GROUP".

The group Being hailed from a small town(Berhampur) of a backward state(Orissa)does not know how to flaunt and flatter judges and audiences on a television screen. They put on barnish colours, which is very tough to rub off from the body, just because it fits to their dream roles. No matter, what's happening,They politely touched the judges feet before staging their limbs into action.Giving life to the words of Obama,"We Can",they went ahead with their distant dream.Their professional team act belied the low status of the civil land they came from.I am proud of you my friends, carry this passion and enthu in all your future acts and let India shine through your jubilant performances.

Baffled by connotations,lost by value

Try to possess a Gay (alive, lively)spirit all the time, but please don't take Gay's time (fast, sudden) in deciding to promote yourself as a Gay(homosexual) icon. After all, whats wrong with,"aadmi hun aadmi se pyaar karta hun"??There was myriad hue and cry against its legalisation in India, but finally few ministers tried it with few judges and saw the paradise invisible and unperceivable by the coma affected common man.Violating the law of nature,Advertising the idea which will definitely let the unknown think about it and possibly increase members in that community club,Defining a new culture,we pushed the era of Page 3 at par with the lateral thoughts of youngsters.Anyway it was done, but if any guy is not sure about his interest, please follow the pic and be definite about your area of freedom.

The main issue is with the meanings of the word gay(alive, fast, homosexual),so if homosexuality means alive, then the legalisation is theoretically correct as every citizen needs to be pro-active...:)..See, connotations play such a vital role while deciding major issues in the society.Read the following article based on the same concept regarding how Russia stumbles into brand-name gaffe in Africa ,excerpted from the guardian newspaper.

It probably seemed a good idea at the time. But Russia’s attempt to create a joint gas venture with Nigeria could become one of the classic branding disasters — after the new company was named Nigaz. The venture was agreed last week during a four-day trip to Africa by Russia’s president, Dmitry Medvedev. The deal between Russia’s Gazprom and Nigeria’s state oil company was supposed to show off the Kremlin’s growing interes t in Africa’s energy reserves.
Instead, the venture is now likely to be remembered for all the wrong reasons, as a PR blunder worse than Chevrolet’s Nova, which failed to sell in South America because it translated as “doesn’t go” in Spanish. Alert users of Twitter first highlighted the unfortunate English connotations of Nigaz, which appeared to have eluded Medevedev’s Russian-speaking delegation. Writing on Monday, shunty 75 observed: “Nigaz is the name for the new Gazprom
Nigeria venture. They need a new PR outfit. NO WAY!! Haha!!” Other twitterers also derided
the name.

An article in Brand Republic pointed out the obvious: that the name has “rather different connotations” for English-speakers. It recalled other international branding mishaps, including the Ford Pinto, which in Brazil means small penis, and the Pepsi slogan “Come alive with the
Pepsi generation”, which in Taiwan translates as “Pepsi will bring your ancestors back
from the dead.” It is unclear why no one alerted Mr. Medvedev to the blunder. One possible explanation is that the offending word is still widely used in Russia. Nigaz plans to invest at least $2.5bn in oil and gas exploration, and to build refineries, pipelines and gas power stations in Nigeria.

A day to rejoice

What an event!!!what a day!!!Those who participated ,will cherish the moment for ever and those who didn't, can never forgive their silly ignorance.

10,57,8000,426....This golden sequence has a great significance in my life when it is represented with "km,minutes, total participants, rank" in one-to-one fashion. My rear shin bone muscles aching, fat and fibres in my tummy fighting against their death, both of my shoulder movements trying to expand the chest muscles,my skull getting hotter and hotter, but mind put a full stop long before to the thought of losing the NIKE Tee(supposed to be awarded to the fastest 1500).Started at number somewhat around 4000,completed 2 kms with ease.Till half way(5km),people crossed me like a factory-outlet Ferrari passing a second hand bulldozer. Then gradually i realised the practical use of number system with units. As the distance increased,my plan of completion focused on units in a decreasing fashion..from km to m to cm ,same with the scalar part of least count. Then there was only one truth i knew,"i am moving or spinning or rotating, something driving me or dragging me forward, but still i exist on earth."cheer leaders making noise with funny gestures, volunteers passing us water bottles as if they fed up keeping that waste product with them, photographers twinkling their small magic boxes and the remaining lazy bangaloreans cheering the runners with high pitch voices was a better confidence booster compared to the commanding speech of Barack Obama.Boss, continuity is neither stable nor independent in nature. You need to be a master in LIMIT to decide CONTINUITY of something. In application to human beings,Ur WILL-POWER makes it a dependent quantity. That's what happened.I noticed a mere no. of participants walking while breathing the whole atmosphere in and out when The nearby digital metre flashed "8Kms COMPLETED". I decided to keep my pace up when noticed two beauties (one from Spain and other from Switzerland) overtaking the air resistance ahead of me .My Nike shoe cladded legs came into life and crushed every bit of dust under it and my body was being launched forward to pave the way ahead of others. The timer chip flashed "57mins 6 secs" when i hit the 10km end line.we had photo sessions with legends like maurice greene , hugh jones , Reeth abraham...etc.Post run,Foot massage and vegetable treat were awesome.

I came, I fought n I conquered the SUNFEAST WORLD10K.Now it's time to wait for the courier guy to knock my door before handing me the brand new NIKE Tee with "I am a finisher" tag shinning with colourful letters...:).

P.S.:- There was a huge mistake made in the event's database by the organisers while filling details about me,for which i am suffering since my biological physique defies my gender shown in the below link .Hope you have faith on my words and don't take the matter seriously ...:),"Running Timing details"

Nike face-off corporate challenge

This mini marathon of 3km was The first ever corporate challenge i participated in.It was organised by run for life club sponsored by Nike at kanteerava indoor stadium,Bangalore. This morning, competition was between SAP vs SASKEN and I2TECH vs HP. Each participant had to register at their respective company counters to get a bib number. You can feel the charm of running on nike shoes if you want, but for that, one has to hand over his car key/mobile in eachange for that pair of shoes.Only 44 guys turned up from sasken to compete with 65 runners from SAPlab. The rule was that, all the 109 guys will start simultaneously, but the fastest 30 guys of a particular company reaching the end point will be the winner. The trainer lead us to the entrace gate opposite to Sheshadri Iyer library in cubbon park.We were taught about worm-up sessions and the map of race circuit. There were throat crackling cheer ups from each team.We were told to held a baton while running.I didn’t know who crossed me or whom i put back.my concern was to maintain my pace, that's it.There were sunfeast biscuit packets, cups of glucon D mixed water and mineral water to energise young muscles. The fastest runner completed it in 9 min 55secs.I finished in 11min20secs and came 6th.As per the rules of probability,30 out of 64 guys(sap lab) have a greater possibility to win than 30 out of 44(sasken) and It happened...:-(...Then there was certificate distribution ceremony presided by a Nike trainer(skinny lady from pune).

Following the principle,famous-brand-then-good-product,It was assumed that the race will be organised somewhat in special manner as NIKE rules the sports world. But it turns out to be a bit pathetic as there was no certi for guys finishing within top five/ten spots over ally,Though there was accolades for guys finishing last from the team-work-decides winning team. There was small confusion about the circuit in the middle of the race,so many guys lose time for that. The feel good factor was when photographs being taken while one was going to crush the photographer, face to face. After all,you know it is fun to run in a group, watching your colleagues surpassing you and you maintaining coolness recalling the famous cliche,”slow and steady wins the race”.

WTF going on - 2

In a Sunday evening a huge devilish laughter broke the silence of the dark living room.3 roomies sitting on the bed edges discussed something kinda funny under the flickering candle light. It was about the future endeavours of technocrats from different disciplines. But the discussion turned into a debate when some points supporting live-life-electrical-engineer-size was put on by the only degree holder of that branch among that triplet...And rest of the evening was wasted making sarcastic humours on that sounds-so-funny career option.Let me clarify you in WTF manner those vital points raised that day :-
Who wants to be an expert in a renowned field??certainly number of junta will give positive response.A slight modification in the same question sounds a bit kidding, like who wants to be an expert on Generator(or in the field of generators)??Imagine You will do your MS publishing few papers on existing generators and can-be-done modifications ....Now assume that your mastery in that subject is not over yet, means you have to do PhD(5 years, not 3 years) with generators. You have to read the history of it and try your best to write the future proposed designs(you published during your MS) in a tough-wording-for-fake-ideas doctorate thesis. Then you will be offered the GM post of the office-of-generator-experts at NTPC without any written/interview,since very few(may be null) people would be there to fight with your achievement.
Lets discuss about the possible research areas in that field.First of all,You will discover the reduction principle otherwise the disgusting fart sound of Ur instru will make Ur ass kicked off from that locality. This principle will be based on how to reduce number of r's from the sound,"Grrrrrrrrrrrr....".secondly,the principle of pessimism. Here u need to chalk out plans to make the world running short of electricity,so that Ur item n you will marked high in black market and shaadi bazaar respectively.Though this principle carries huge risk as per its name and the idea behind it,it guarantees a grand return end of the financial year.
Thirdly, the principle of anti-axe-effect.You know the instru you will be working with lives on crude oil,everybody-hate-to-smell since discovered. Now you can tell the smell of your body parts without any action, same for the area where this will be kept.Be careful about environmental pollution.
There are many more exciting risky ideas/principles,where you can waste your time with, but for that you need to do your PhD in that field. After all,Whats wrong in it,A high profile job in a central govt office with all facilities to carry out a life time research in the field of generators.I wish you guys good luck if you are determined to go for it now.I cannot write more since my lappie battery going down with just 5% charge remaining.Current is not there, wish i could be an expert on generator....

Jawaani down down down

Happy b'day to me,
Happy b'day to me,
Happy b'day to GOUTAM BUDHHA,
Happy b'day to me
......Today was the day i made it to a physical noise making worthless social animal called human being. There are many goof ups regarding my b'date.1st July is what written on my college certificate,4th May is what mom told me when i asked to put in orkut profile, but finally grand ma rules. She insisted that she was not proud of me,rather she was proud of that infant who made it on the b'day of Goutam buddha.Hence all my family members agreed on this holy fact but on a condition that grand ma should be proud of me as well..:)..

As per the strict instruction of momma,i left bed on sharp 7 o'clock before Moti darling started her morning saga(Moti is the pyaari si doggy of my raw-mango-tasted-bitter-faced house owner). After the usual bathroom stuff it's time to visit the nearby VENKATESWAR TEMPLE to pray for my hopefully-blessed 25th year. With my cargo pant n gym goer newly bought sleeveless t-shirt,this young guy was looking like judwa of mahesh babu.I rang the temple bell 25 times not caring the resentment of other devotees, distributed the prasad among the cute little teens playing around and returned to home without requesting god to give me something.Every time i decided to ask something for me,i find some fault in that and ended up in praying,"GOD,Help the people.Make me a good person wiping out my evil thoughts".

At home i decided to resume guitar learning classes for the sake of my 25th year B'day resolution.Guitar teacher,a maachh-bhaat-jamke-khabo bengali, declared the whole class to keep silence and listen Oriya songs requested me to sing in the rhythm of guitar tunes.I did not know how akshya Mohanty took his avatar in me and i was successfully delivered starting lines of few Oriya hits.It hit them so hard that, some forgot the chord combination for the song. The receptionist was sitting at the door step to catch me to collect 1600/- as per admission fee.But when i told her that it was just a demo class for me,i will pay you next class, her expression turned like as if a natkhat balak(freak guy) cheated a bholi-bhali ladki(innocent girl)...(wish u know the meaning of CHEATING from bollywood dictionary).A slight glimpse of my diamond credit card put a golden smile on her hopeless face.

Where is the party tonight!!!After a few bakkar session with roommies,It was decided to let the kukkads greet us at "OYE AMRITSARI".Going through brigade road area at night time is a feel-happy experience for every bachelor. This joy multi folded if you start scanning colourful foren items every nook and corner of the dine room of a church street famous restaurant keeping in mind that the Kukkad patialawala is gonna be served with makhanlal ka masalawala papdi kulcha. After order waiting time hurts. Nil kept on searching a gharelu looking beautiful desi queen.I got one and dedicated to him...no no, we shared with mutual understanding.Dev-D as usual was planning to make a fight between different sea creatures and no. of chickens in his tummy by taking all items mentioned in their big menu.Rohu found his dream partner (looking like Palomi De of MTV Roadies 6) being served with a glass of red wine,he got angry and tried to negotiate the anger with boneless chicken soup.Everybody was on the verge of explosion before the lime soda gave us temporary relief.Keeping the blank space after Tips section in the bill blank,we left the hotel with a loud "OYE" uttered in satisfaction.

P.S.:What is there in b'day wish, what is there in b'day treat, just feel the friendship, just feel it...:)

The grilling session-2

It was a bright Saturday morning, just 3 days after the April Fools day.I got up at 9 o'clock with the sentence running at the back of my mind repeatedly,"dude, are you ready to face the IIM SHILLONG interview??" and my careless attitude replying,"cool man, leave it".I went through both TOI and ET ,line by line. Then prepared myself with some important documents to leave for IIMB campus for the interview.

Now after waiting for 30mins at the corridor near to interview rooms, some dignitary personalities(looking like this) called out the names in each group and told us the process in brief. In my group,7 out of 8 students were present. Then it was time for case study....

case study in brief:-

Chandu singh is PM of India. He is going to attend an international conference (like G20) in Geneva. All the countries in that conference are divided in two groups:-(1)the EU group, (2) non EU group or cairns group. Now there were two paragraphs dedicated to describe the motif of these two groups. Finally,it was asked,if u were chandu singh, then which group you would prefer??

15 mins discussion and 5mins to write the summary of it.

INTERVIEW started one by one.I was fourth in the group,so had to wait 1 hr for my turn after case study. There were 3 profs as the panelist(2 profs from IIMA and one from IIMS).

p1,p2,p3:-come , come inside(in unison).
me:-good afternoon sir(looking at all of them in a time sharing fashion).
p2:-So,you are a product of NIT rourkela.good.which branch??
me:- electronics(sir, don't ask me full branch name i.e. Electronics and instrumentation...bhagwan bachao)
p2:- OK.what is your favourite subject in engineering??
me:-Sir,digital electronics.
P2:-Any other subject??
me:-Sir, communication Eng.
p2:- what kind of communication??
me:- mobile communication. Then described him 3 varieties of communication(with pen and paper).
p2:-Tell me how mobile communication take place??
me:- described him fully(ye to achhe se pata tha yaar)..
p2:-How mobiles pollute the society??
me:-Sir,now market is flooded with mobiles.Even,a person with low income can by a 10k mobile in second hand for cheaper cost. So, its a kinda garbage like plastics, which pollute the environment.
p2:-why scientists are telling not to keep mobiles in shirt pockets, rather to put them in pant pockets??
me:-Sir,because the antenna used inside mobiles is high powerful ones, which can receive signal at any corner of room. Also the electro magnetic radiation may affect human body.
(he wanted the exact effect...so not satisfied).
p2:-any other forms of communication??
me:-sir,optical fibre.
p2:- tell me, how the infra red or blue tooth communication take place.what instruments inside mobile does it??
me:- (confused)...sir not have much idea about it.I am now working in VLSI field, not in communication.(all smiled along with me..:))
p3:- Lets come to politics.Who are in THIRD FRONT??
me:-BJD,CPI,CPM,.....(interrupted by p3)
p3:-what is the party chandrababu naidu belongs??
me:-(yaar yaad nahin aaya TDP us time)...sry sir not able to recollect.
p3:-Who are in fourth front??
me:- SP,RJD n party belonged to Ram vilas paswan.
p3:-Ram vilas paswan is from RJD only.
me:- no sir,i am not getting the party name. But its different.(then there was chaos about his party)
p3:-asked the family hierarchy of VARUN GANDHI, NSA act,His affiliation,His relationship with MK Gandhi??
me:-answered everything correctly except his father's name ..(i was only thinking...rajiv,sanjeev..sanjay Gandhi yaad hi nahin aaya)
p3:- who is union health minister??
me:- sir,ambumani ramados.
p3:-are you sure,ramados??
me:-Not sure sir...(after interview i came to know that he has resigned before one week).
p1:-(he gave some comments on my command over English language).then asked me about "the major event i faced in life".
me:-answered him properly.
p3:-which company are you working with...then why are you leaving this much salary, you may not get it after passing out of MBA??
me:-gave some gyan about passions, interests like stuff...(then we have some debate on it).
p2:-what kind of shares you buy...what do you advice to us to buy in this situation....how much you invested??
me:- blah blah blah....
p1,p2,p3:- done,you can leave now.
me:- thank you sir...(oho over..)

That grilling session was continued for 3o mins. For every student, they spent 30 mins on average .Now its time to wait for the result, which i think is based on "PURE LUCK"...

The grilling session

I was made a victim of this grilling session to get a berth in the 2 yr PGDM programme offered by SPJIMR .Though i was skeptic about Group Interview kind session,give-it-a-try attitude made me cool during a scorching tension.

Call: Finance
TIME:- 9am (first batch)
Venue-IIMB,
Date:- 22/03/09

The show went like this:-
GI 1:- 7 students(one guy from microsoft, one 4 yrs work ex with HCL,one 2 years work ex with TCS,moi 1.5 years work ex with a small reputed indian firm,3 ladies with work ex somewhere in india)
3 interviewers(1 prof from spjain,1 alumni,1 key personality from TATA executive board looked like T-BAG character from "prison break" .)

Everybody was told to market themselves for 2-3 mins by presenting the answer of “tell me about yourself”.Then they asked,” what is your opinion on honesty in workplace”…2/3 guys gave their opinions. The guy sitting beside me used the word “CORPORATE GOVERNANCE”…they suddenly asked me the regulations of investment banks and corporate governance. As I am from Orissa, I was asked to answer few GK questions on Orissa, politics in Orissa, religions in orissa.Few people were asked “why MBA”.One guy (Microsoft) was asked about his innovation @ Microsoft. Then they asked me about my hobbies for 10 mins.few people were asked,” whom they like most and whom they hate most and why”??Like this it was a general round continued for 1 hr 15 mins.

Result:- 6/7 got through in my group

GI 2:-8 students(5 guys n 3 gals) and 2 interviewers(one lady prof and one psychologist)

They told we won’t take your interview,it will be just a friendly chat with you. That mam was smiling all the time during interview, but putting questions like fire on the student’s ass. Each student was interviewed for around 20 mins.
We all were asked about our hobbies and family back grounds.
sometimes they used to ask people to give their view on the answers given by any other groupmate.
One general question was asked to take opinion of people "what is that thing you will notice first for development of india”??
Then we were asked “what will you do if your BEST friend is cheating in the exam hall sitting beside you”??
Another question was,”what is your opinion on JAI HO song getting OSCAR AWARD”?? .
I was asked ,"If you are given an opportunity to meet the newly elected CM of orissa, what are the 3 most important things you want to tell him and why ?".
Then few questions and debates on ethics and moral values.Few people were asked to sing songs and do mimicry, draw a picture as part of their hobby. That’s it..This session continued for 2 hrs 20 mins...i got back pain...Overally the process was a memorable experience ..no stress at all...

sleepless in MUMBAI

I did not like to mug up answers for text book questions to retain the rank one position in my class during school days.Think reality and write articulately was the maxim for my scores in exams. One particular important question put me in trouble myriad times when i was in class V,which goes like this,"what are the benefits of communication??".Being a geography teacher,my dad used to answer me all the time with the same words,"the earth shrinks. The humanitarian chain grows with a philanthropic message of help your new brothers and sisters. The core of man's existence is new experiences. Now you can easily access others customs, cultures and can widen your peripheral view."Then the next obvious question popped up from my mouth ,"dad, what about the disadvantages??"Since that question was not in the book, dad used to tell me,"be positive.Nothing much".We both smiled at it and did not give a second thought on that later question. Now the scenario changed, wish my son will raise the later question to me in the first hand or may be he could get the answers in the pragmatic precedents, not only in solid words but in LIVE videos.

Ten persons,JUST ten persons besieged the whole Mumbai(rather whole India) under gun tips for continuous sixty hours. Starting from my home to my office, there was discussions only on the same matter with constant updates of how many dead, how many injured and how many rescued.Every morning after getting off the bed you have to think as if it is the last day of your life.We can point media people who exaggerated us by showing the same issue adding some masala, but did not the Indians surf news channels with one & only intention to have a overlook on those updated nos.If media won't highlight these issues, will the police force/politicians wake up at a winter night to fight with something at the cost of life.Haan one thing the media can do is ,instead of showing the LIVE videos, they can transmit the video with a delay of 10/15 mins.So that people(may be terrorists, their gang in Pakistan, traitors in India) cannot plan something instantly. No body has enough evidence to counter question Mr.ANTULAY's remark on "Karkare being deceived cause of his foolishness".Still from morality point of view, its a bad remark at a really worst situation. It's like blaming your roommie, why he is sleeping so deeply at night instead of fighting with burglars, while your house is still full of thieves. But, you are busy doing some wasteful blaming job.

The question is now, what is the junk outdated material that man's genome made up of ,who eats some other homo sapience's flesh.I do not think anyone wants to live life of a coward, who die many times before their death. The great bollywood flick,A WEDNESDAY,already triggered the intention of a common stupid man,but the junta needs some fire on their ass, individually. After effects of this incident are no less than few memorable steps in Indian democracy. The home minister of a country(Shivraj patil) being sacked and the chief minister of a state(B.R.Deshmukh,mumbai) resigned. In tha past,BJP increased its seats in parliament after resolving BABRI MASJID issue. Then,Did UPA take this step as a foresightedness into coming assembly elections??Answer may be no, since they are hardly using or flaunting on these actions during election campaign. But the mystery is How the problem can be resolved by just changing the CM of a state or sacking some Central minister.May be the new minister is a bit more proactive than the sacked one,but finally once a terrorist entered into TAJ/OBEROI,its the militants who can dare to go inside & fight them back. For this, militants,NSG commandos, even mumbai police should be trained with updated tech savvy gadgets & new ideas on how to handle a planned havocked emergency. After all these are the people whose hands on experience matters everything. The whole nation is proud of INDIAN SOLDIERS,hats off to those few martyrs.Wish the country men are realising your true power in this one incident, which gave a clue to praise you for what you have done in wars around LOC .

Mumbai, the financial capital of India, the city that never sleeps, the city of dreams, fast paced and ever changing, home to Bollywood! A City of beauty but also a city that got scarred! A city whose foundation is slowly crumbling beneath its facade of invincibility!Who knows when the whole India will be crying for help.Instead of simply seeking help from USA and dreaming mother India to give birth to Indian-OBAMA,each & every citizen of our country needs to be PRO-active.Education system requires a major revolution in the country.Agar aap abhi bhi so rahe ho, to be careful,JAAGORE team may knock your door anytime.

WTF going on - 1

Have you ever thought why speakers(almost all) address the public with a startup "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN" before delivering an ocean of english alphabets permuted and combined artistically.I agree we have to address before speech as per ethics, but my focus is on these two special words used:-"LADIES","GENTLEMEN".Four questions scribbling me on this matter,(1)Is it cause all LADIES,but few MEN are GENTLE??(2)Is it cause all LADIES arrogant and all MEN GENTLE,but using the word arrogant hurts,so only "LADIES'??or (3)Is there any axiom that if you put any adjective before addressing them, they will make a debate on it like if its a positive adjective, they will think this speaker is flattering, hence he doen't have any originality and if the adjective is a negative one, speaker doesn't have any sense of humour, uske maa behen mar gaye kya, this way a fish market will spoil the essence of that speech??...I got fed up ,but hai you(lady/gentleman)
Socha Hai... Yeh Tumne Kya Kabhi
Socha Hai... Ki Hain Yeh Kya Sabhi
Socha Hai... Socha Nahi To Socho Abhi...

Not a penny more,But a penny less

If u,the diehard fans of Jeffry archer, will persuade him, then he will definitely plan to write a piece on How to bankrupt panda,as i raped the name of one of his famous novels. But if Jeffry is optimist,he won't COMPLAIN ABOUT THE NOISE,WHEN OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS with a transparent mask called advertisement.wish he is.

From the last 23 years,I hardly got a chance to show others that the runner in me can make BOLT stripping-before-me-to-get-gold than dancing-after-game-for-getting-gold in 100m race event of Beinjing olympics 2k8.May be i could have bagged the best filmy-coach award for directing Tom hanks on how to run around the globe without taking a break during shooting of Forest gump.Leave the past,be in the present.Today is mine.I will catch the bus.No i cannot.Yeah i can.No i cannot.Lets give it a try.The distance between me and the bus is increasing opposite to the rate of attraction of an iron-magnet pair.I had increased my speed to make the relative velocity between us tending to zero. Not caring about the potholes on the cemented pavement ,i kept on running..running ..and running....

May be the driver was scanning his side area, usually flooded with girls ,and by chance his +2.5 dioptred powerful eyes caught sight of a poor chap making efforts to catch the bus. Then he must have thought about SRK in DDLJ running behind the train for Kajol , his sympathetic heart must have instructed do-something-or-i-will-die,following which he gave the volvo a momentary stop and let the door opened mechanically.I hardly stepped in,it started rolling.I don't understand why these drivers are so hurried, even they don't care whether your whole body or just asshole is in.Always they start the bus suddenly after a momentary break,as if they stopped the revolution of earth for the last second.

I like this smiley skinny conductor not because of his appearance, but of the placidity in his behaviour. In the end it does not even matter, achha lage ya bura,35 rupees(busfare) to lega bo,free main thodi jaane dega. Its too rush inside the bus, even air particles has to beg excuse to kiss their neighbours just 1mm apart.I am not sure whether Today is thursday or not,but can bet its not a monday since i accepted the LOVE letter yesterday in the office cafe.(mujhe pata hai,aap soch rahe honge ki mr. Nenderthal ko love letter kahan se mila, lekin ye wo nahin jo aap sochte hain, its a corporate love letter euphemism for increment letter).I checked the day column of my CONIO wrist watch repeatedly.Yeah it's Thursday morning only, then why its so rush, first time in the last 4 months.i didn't know how many shoes were crushed under me while forcing small steps in between mingling jeans cladded legs to get some space in the core area of bus.

Now its time to make my money purse a bit lighter in weight as conductor(Mr. C) reclined on my right half with a sudden jerk of bus.In money matters, its better to be a sensitive receiver than a high power transmitter if and only if you know you have to lose it,so i waited for the time when he will ask me.When i was trying to adjust my handbag, suddenly heard somebody yelling,"1 rupee sir".i didn't care that as i had n't yet given the busfare(rs.35/-),who cares for some 1 rupee.Second time in the same voice,"1 rupee sir".Somebody begging inside a volvo bus, resembles a-beautiful-girl-in-NIT/IIT conudrum as bychance it can happen if AAJTAK team made 5 continuous nightouts praying GOD to get the heart BREAKING NEWS of the decade.I turned my head 90 degrees left vertically aligning my nose with left shoulder joint to check the beggar out. Again the same voice,"1 rupee sir".But this time i caught him,its Mr.C.

Me:-wait a second let me stand propely,i will give you the fare.
Mr. C:-ok,sir.
(after few seconds)i took out one shinning 100 rupee note from my purse to hand it over to Mr.C.
Me:- Yeah take it.(100rupee note tucked between my fore finger and middle finger of right hand and all the fingers of right hand taking a shape close to that of right hand thumb rule.It was so fresh n stainless that you can notice, even MK gandhi was laughing instead of smiling (as in other notes)deep inside the watermark portion of the note. But What happened to this fellow,No reactions,no emotions,no response...nothing.)
Mr. C:-"1 rupee sir".(with a facial expression similar to that of an elephant, who unknowingly took a ripe banana in his mouth, which he hates).
Me:- What boss,i have not given you the fare yet. What is this one rupee??
Mr. C:- Sir, today if you have a one rupee coin, then only you are allowed to use volvo, otherwise sorry.as per the rule you are not allowed.
What rubbish he is talking to me,i was embarrassed. Then i saw myriad eyes poking at me. Its like I was watching Taare volvo Par,a remake of Taare Zamin Par.Somebody from my back muttered:- from today till coming sunday, VOLVO rate is 1 rupee.Just 1 rupee, wherever you go in bangalore. Its a kinda of advertisement for BSNL's "one india plan" by that company.i was taken aback by a sudden surge of lightning with "Kyon chaunk gaye??" (as in the ad of TIDE).(Domlur to Ginger-not 35 rupees ,only 1 rupee)Now i joined with others praising this idea.
Mr. C:-sir, i want...
Me:-what??
Mr. C:- "1 rupee".
I searched every corner of my Notes-stuffed purse, but didn't get glimpse of a coin, leave about one rupee.A guy in his twenties supporting a black colored i-carbon bag handed one rupee to the conductor for me.When i looked at him,he made a gesture of "take it easy man, enjoi".Then Mr. C shifted his gaze to some other passenger to collect one rupee from him.So in the next stoppages whoever got into volvo, used to get that shocking good news like me.

I heard most of the guys planned how to make maximum use of volvo in next three days as its available at almost free of cost. It's INDIA meri jaan.kuchh bhi free main dedo, log aise faida lenge ki free main dene balako dil ka daura padne se bo AIIMS mein admit hoga, but after somedays he/she will be declared dead(100% gaurantee),not cause of the negligence of doctors there, but because he/she would not want to hear the acerbic comments like "sala ek number ka MAMU tha,jo aise free main de raha tha." or "abhi tak jinda hai kya bo??kaise bach gaya bo ,dil ka dohra padatha na use"..etc etc... from those same people served by him .The scenario became like that for the next three days.Even doors of some volvos were broken.you can see colourful spits on the decorated costly window glasses of the bus from inside.I don't know what happened to BSNL after that ,whether anybody tried to take a connection from their network or cursed him for not giving that kinda of discount for some more days.

JAB(....just another breakfast)

it was d 2nd time i had an opportunity to 've a conversation with the CEO of sasken.d first interaction was during freshers' induction programme.unlike dat meeting where i was 1 among 60 heads, dis time sitting in a group of 13 members took me a bit closer to him.when i entered d discussion room at 9.20 am, i got a bit ecstatic-nervous after tracing my name plate facing rajiv's.he joined us exactly @9.30,with a great sense of time.the meeting started with brief introductions from all gathered members regarding their experience with sasken n kinda of work they are involved in.he asked myriad questions to some seniors related to their field of work in dis company.then he initiated d discussion with a slight warmup, about T20 worldcup triumphant young indian cricket team, how they completed that odd journey with fully-planned strategies n showed leadership in workplace.he pointed us,"a lot can be learnt from these games.i want you guys to change the complete structure of dis company.its totally in your hand."
then he focused basically on high attrition rate of sasken putting incompetent managers as the sole reason behind it.Urged the managers to be utmost sincere and straight forward to their team guys and not play games. He brought in the concept of one to one interaction of managers with each team member at least twice every month. He also clearly told us that we have to project ourselves to customers as people giving the full solution to rather than in small bits & pieces. He stressed on the need for long term planning on how to capitalise on the experience/expertise gained by people.
on the whole meeting was fine but, mainly discussion was between the seniors n rajiv.being a fresher,I felt a bit left out when they started discussing some management strategies.he sighted some usual management problems n how to overcome them with simple illustrations.but, the CEO told nothing about his future strategies, his vision of a changed sasken. I found no time to request him (non-business) matters like poor toilet maintenance, poor canteen facility @ FAC B etc.the CEO satisfactorily answered all the questions posed by the guys. For one point that there was high attrition rate because of the poor quality of work found no proper answer from him.he defended this point by comparing pure RnD work of sasken with other IT giants.this way the whole meeting was conducted for complete 2 hrs.Such kinda of meetings should be conducted frequently.BTW dat awesome experience was not just another breakfast for me.

(note:- d author's seat was against to rajiv,so was nt clicked in d top 3 cliques ..so sad)

d following article was published on d news section of sasken website:-
"Breakfast with CEO"
‘Breakfast with CEO’ is an initiative of the Central Marketing Group that enables Sasians to get up close with Rajiv Mody. Conducted across the different centers of Sasken, Rajiv met with Sasians from Fac-B on the 26th of September.
The following Sasians were chosen at Fac-B: Amarender Choula, Robert Kingsly, Ranganayakulu Konduri, Srinidhi Koushik, Deepali Chourasia, Abhishek Srivastava, Vinay Rao, Swati Ravichandran, Nithin Sujathan, Anupama Sharma, Ashish Hegde, Dipti Panda
Dipti recalls ‘The first time I had met Rajiv, I was one among 60 people during my induction program. This time sitting amongst a group of 13 members took me a bit closer to him. I nervously entered the discussion room at 9.20 a.m. Rajiv joined us exactly at 9.30 a.m. with a great sense of punctuality. The meeting started with brief introduction from all the gathered members regarding their experience with Sasken and the kind of work they are involved in. He then spoke about the T20 world cup and the triumphant young Indian cricket team. He pointed out that a lot can be learnt from these games.”
Robert Kingsly relives a few moments “Breakfast with CEO of a company is usually a rare opportunity, hence is obviously exciting. In the case of Rajiv, his simplicity makes the event very attractive even to the junior most engineer of the organization. His ability to identify himself with the employees across various levels of hierarchy is quite impressive. Rajiv emphasized on the responsibilities of the managers, towards creating an Eco-system for the engineers to feel Sasken as a great place to work. Compensations alone may not keep an employee bound to the Organization.
Over a longer term of the career, ups and downs in compensations get evened out. Rajiv has a vision to grow Sasken significantly beyond what it is today. Most of the growth patterns do not follow the conventional logical sequences. They happen in a non-linear fashion as quantum leaps. Sasken's unique positioning as a complete end-to-end telecom solutions provider gives the necessary competitive edge for the growth to happen.”
Deepali in an excited tone, “It was one of the best breakfast conversations that I have ever had. It was good interacting with Rajiv on our plans to become "Better than our customers" and to start looking at improving the efficiency every day. It is really great that Sasken gives such wonderful opportunities to employees wherein they can directly talk to Rajiv to discuss issues and express views on how things are being done.”

Vinay Rao adds “On the whole, time just flew by and what added to the whole session was some wonderful breakfast”
Ashish Hegde remembers “It was not a mere one or two line introduction that Rajiv took from us. Instead he showed great interest in exactly what kind of work each one was doing here in Sasken. He seemed to know everything, from IC design technology to mobile application software!
After the elaborate introduction and a good tasty bowl of fruits, Rajiv chose to talk on forthcoming challenges that we Sasians will have to face because of the increasing Rupee value. He also showed his concern regarding the high attrition rate in Sasken. He suggested that Managers should have more one-on-one's with their reportees so that the employees’ problems get heard and solved on an individual basis. This, he felt, would reduce attrition considerably.”
And Swati up close “It was a wonderful experience and I feel each employee should go though it at least once. The most valuable takeaway was to understand the business scenario/challenges/areas of improvement for Sasken as a whole from Rajiv himself. It will surely help me align better with the larger vision/direction that Rajiv spoke about.
He was very open about answering all sorts of questions that came up. The breakfast itself was formal and almost ceremonial in nature, which makes it even more special.”

"DEDICATED 2 ALL SOFTWARE ENGINEERS WHO TAKE UP CAT"
CAT-Common Admission Test... Probably the toughest exam to crack in the world today. The major chunks of people who take up CAT are SoftwareEngineers with an experience of 0-3 years. I have been also a part of this "Junta".Here are five reasons why software engineers treat writing CAT as"religion".

The first reason is some people hate to code. These are the group of people who don't get a shit out of Mainframe, Java or Dot Net. These are the people who are still confused between the difference of"Classes" and "Objects","C" and "C++". These are the people who get AT LEAST ten errors per line of code they write. These are the group of people who hate to hear terms such as "Defect","Enhancement","Unit Testing","integration testing".

The second reason why people take up CAT is "joblessness". Yes people on"Bench". Some of these guys wanted to be hot shot computer programmers, but end up just playing computer games to pass their free time. One of my friends used to dream of joining "Google" one day. He got a campus placement in one of the well known software companies of India. He was so good that he topped in his training batch. But would u believe me this guy is on "Bench"for the past one and a half years. First week on bench he played computer games. Second week he spoke to his Project Manager and asked him to install some software so that he can learn SOMETHING. His ProjectManager denied him giving a reason "Project Cost". Third week he just felt "helpless" sitting idle in office. Fourth week he decided to take Up CAT.

The third reason is "Money & Opportunities(travel & living)". As most of you would have been reading in various magazines and internet websites that average salaries in leading B-schools are more than 10 lacs pa. I can bet that any Software Engineer in any of the software service majors in this country cannot reach this figure in the next five years. Frankly speaking I feel that the job of software engineers is equal in challenge to the job of B-school grads. If the challenge is same ...why not the salaries...? When software engineers don't get an answer to this question, one day they decide to go for the bucks...and join a B-school.

The fourth reason is the reason which caused "Ramayana" and"Mahabharata".Yes you got it right "girlfriends". One of my roommates got a call from his baby just before his CAT exams and she said "DO WELL ATLEAST FOR ME,I KNOW U CAN". This guy got so excited that he ended up attempting 65 out of 75 questions in CAT last year. Another friend of mine says that he wants to pursue a technical career but he says that his girlfriend wants him to do Management. She told him that her brother has a MBA degree from a topB-school, so he should also have one. Bul l shit!! If I were my friend I would have ditched her that day coz you cannot get any silly reason for taking up CAT than this.

The last reason is "Following the crowd". These groups of people write CAT because everyone else around them is writing. These are the people who perform the worst in the exam and give a push up to other people percentiles.while i was in the queue infront of AXIS bank 4 buyin CAT form, the guy standin behind me asked "hii, can u plz tell me wht i've 2 do..like which form i've 2 buy 2 get into IIMB,i dont like CAT or XAT...they r too tough dude,i cannot even correct a single question there."i told him,"nice dude u want a degree only frm IIMB, k writting CAT is one way which u dont like, then simplest way is enter into IIMB campus thru their main gate without askin anybdy,u'll 've an interview session with sm professional interviewers(security personnel),if u can satisfy them ,then u'll get d ticket(gatepass) 2 IIMB." Whatever is the reason, one fine Sunday morning in November they would all assemble in some examination center in some part of the country to take up a challenge called as "CAT".

Completion of my BTech project ...a paradox??

"yaar, tum logon ka project kahan tak gaya??hamara guide c***** hai be.sala kuchh batata nahi.jabhi jao bolta hai meet me 2morrow.uska "2morrow" kab aayega pata nahi.ab bol raha hai end sem se pehle thesis submit karo.watt lagega hamara.shit.."... used 2 b d default initials of discussion among final yrs these days.sm poor chaps r obsessed wth d fact dat their guide is too genius 2 b handled(always in a mood 2 assign smthin heavier not bothering about d effort put in completing previous loads).

it's exactly 2.15pm on a hot-sunny-day,chitta(my project partner, aims 4 an Ex grade here) called me 2 come 2 our giude's chamber.i ruptured my afternoon nap 4 dat mundane project work.around 2.30,i gently pressed d push-2-open door of his chamber, wth d gentle words of request,"may i cm in sir?"...RATH sir(my guide, short heighted tech savvy in his sixties) gave us a mystified look as if v r completely unknown 2 him, perhaps he was not in mood 2 discuss anything abt our progress.he really got aghast,i chuckled.then offered us 2 sit facing him with our 20 paged progress report(30% our own effort n rest frm GOOGLE SEARCH).we stated our problems n also gave sm suggestions ragarding d rest of work.main simulation part of our report took 3complete odd nights b4 giving desired o/ps.when sir told dat there was sm problem in d method which he taught us (on which dat simulation is totally based on),instantly d informally-formal phrase popped up in my mind(thank god!!not in mouth),"FUCK OFF".all dat night stand gone wasted, now v have 2 write a new code implementing a new method.it's 3 o'clock now,a newly jobbed lecturer frm META DEPT. entered into d chamber wth sm problems on institute telephone system, which rath sir is in charge of.his matter is resolved, sir now completely forgot about our project.

time is 3.15pm.from dat moment onwards all we discussed r interrelated with each other without satisfying our aim of presence in dat chamber.first he scolded d mismanaged management system of dis centrally funded temple-of-learning,giving us detail idea about his hectic professional life here.he told,"you know,i never looked for a job,i just stepped into dis unluckily.here, there is no respect for a senior prof.even i 've 2 pay rs 500/- for renewal of my ID card.if i'll take more classes(wth tests n assignments),u ppl 'll give d worst feedback on me at d end of sem.reverse is true, but dat is fraud n i hate dat mentality..bla bla bla".v supported him makin a no. of FW-BW motion of our tiny neckbone(plasticity factor=1).then shortterm GD sessions started on topics like:-dating-crammed-mindset of modern NITians,nobelprize-missed grt indian brains, advanced medical science in india...etc.it's around 4.30pm,sir put a fullstop on dat ongoing entertainment discussion coz of sm imp work in d academic section.he hurriedly told," u ppl come on tomorrow...(silence)..no i won't 've free time then,cm on day after tomorrow...no..u better cm on next project period(after 7 days)",i corroborated.ohhh..v r now free 4 d next 7 days,no tension about project work.

only one BTech project is assigned here 4 d whole final yr(7th+8th sem).around 64 hrs(2hr each period*2 periods every week*4 weeks per month*4 months per sem)of d whole 7th sem is wasted in choosing a suitable project topic which can help us in future endeavour. In those dayz v r a bit busy wth campus placements, hence excused.now in 8th sem atleast v r spending sm time(5-10hrs per month)there n a bit progressed too.still boubtful regarding its completion.d content of 2nd n 3rd paragraphs in dis article is sample of a day's project work similar to many other wasted project periods.there r basically 4 reasons 4 neglegence of BTech projects:-(1)guide doesnt 've much knowledge in dat subject n he is n't interested in gaining too,(2)students r a bit anaemic on studies after having a job backup,(3)tight BTech schedule doesn't let students 2 devote time 4 project works,(4)lack of proper environment(lab facility, equipments requied..etc).1st n 2nd facts r most appropriate in case of NITs.so here d solution lies in d mentality, freakness, level of knowledge of both guides n underassigned students.

my project is on-"eye detection using wavelets n ANN".after a lot of discussions with sir on varied biological topics, v r now in a position 2 detect each n every parts of a human being except eyes.anyway i have 2 incompletely complete it before d official submission date.remember things never workout d way u want them to,but things always workout in d end..don't limit ur challenges, challenge ur limits.then only i can remove d word "paradox" 4m title of dis article.wait plzzz....got a call frm chitta(wish it's not abt our project work)

DESIGNING A FUTURE

Being a final yr guy of a technical institution(class lectures,textbooks... bye bye) ,boarded in a single room, umpteen times i keep myself busy with high level AI based games like AOE,CS,IGI(1 &2)...etc. or any kinda of Hollywood movies(can tolerate anything) to be survived from mental trauma caused due to boredom.always i m abit confused about my future, which career path i should follow(MS/MBA/IAS)..it's not dat i m unfit for a particular career, rather i can achieve any of those three fields, but which can satisfy me in long run is d real question i tried to find d answer for.truely its very tuff designing a future......when ppl approach me basically juniors,sm fellow mates ,even sm seniors on a solution for dis question i try my best to shape up their way of thinking ,so that they can get it by themselves according to their wish, their interest...now @3am m writting these stuffs coz i just watched a movie( " the persuit of happyness") which reminded me about one of such encounters.

once when i was to my village, A not so desperate housewife told me,"i want to change.i don't like being changed."the thirty something mother of two wanted to break free from the domestic rut.yet, she doesn't want to take up a soft teaching job that her husband recommends.she wants to grow and export orchids.she has had completed her graduation by dat time.

"i want to go out there and make a difference, but i am afraid of the unknown,"she said with a heavy breath.honestly,i told her,"how can you be afraid of the unknown when you don't know what that is?you can only be afraid of something you know, isn't it?".then looking at her puzzled eyes and a mop of hair hanging on her cheek like a delicate creeper,i said,"what you are afraid of is really giving up the security of the known".we are scared to give up control of what we have .we cling like leeches to our past experiences .we are really afraid of getting unstuck from our past.

so how does one change?she asked.not by going back to the past but by designing the future,i told her.you can design the future only when you stop repeating the past.look here,i insist, your brain has a billion neurons that can combine in trillions of new neural circuits.your attachment to the past is locked in only 5 percent of your entire neural network.just use the rest 95 percent of your brain to dream up a future full of orchids.dream of blooming flowers and smiling customers.you will then design a dream future.she smiles nervously.i didn't know what dat smile means.but i know for sure,i have set her thinking about her future.
